Chelsea
Urania Kate Chattan: Like the famous hotel she was named for, Chelsea
is a living embodiment of all things different. She's an artist, a rebel,
a poet and a witch. Jubal is her friend and boyfriend, although its
not ever clear which. Chelsea has since found out that she is a mythical
were-messiah, killed a werewolf god, was tortured by a 15th century
ancestor, found out she can only die by her hand or the hand of another
Chattan, may become an evil sorceress in later years and now processes
a wizard's lock of white hair. She thinks it's kind of punk. She now
has a bit more control over her feline self, but still has not tapped
into her full potential. That may very well be a lifetime pursuit -
of course the problem there being that she may be immortal.
"Life is
like Sanskrit read to a pony." - Lou Reed

Alexander
Jubal McRae: Jubal, in his mid 20's, attempts to lead a fairly care-free
and contented life. He is one of two DJ's that work at the local radio
station, WEDN - AM. Jubal is a kid at heart, literally. He is just as
happy playing with his action figures, reading comics, or shooting hoops
as he is anything else. Jubal was shot and killed at the beginning of
the Council fo Three story line, but Corrine was able to lock his soul
inside a voodoo soul jar. However the jar was broken and a resurrection
spell had to be hastily cast. Since his return Jubal has demonstrated
a few magickal abilities including talking with Sebo.
"Is it not strange
that sheep's guts should hale souls out of men's bodies? - William Shakespeare
(Much Ado about Nothing, act 2, sc. 3).

Paul
Winston McRae: Jubal's brother is one of the new Republicans. He likes
to make money and speak freely in public too. He's always there with
an answer, or a helping hand, even if you don't need it. Knowledgeable
in almost everything Paul hardly lets an opportunity go by to let people
know it. Yes, he would be a know-it-all if he wasn't so likable. The
three most important things to Paul are Cynthia (his wife), his brother,
and golf. Paul, a devote Christian, is still grappling with the existence
of Chelsea as a witch and a werecat.
"There is no chance, and no anarchy,
in the universe. All is system and gradation. Every god is there sitting
in his sphere." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Cynthia
Marie Angeline Thalia Monroe: An atypical dumb blonde, Cynthia is Chelsea's
half-sister and Paul's wife. She doesn't have a brain in her head, but
she's got a heart as big as the whole outdoors.
"I have to give a personal
quote? Oh my. . . life is like a bowl of cherries. I don't know why
it is, that's just what I've always heard. Is that okay?"

Ruth
Netta Chattan: Chelsea's Grandmother, Ruth is always in the kitchen
making something good or conjurin' a spell or two from her recipe book
(Book of Shadows). A witch with great magic, Ruth pretty much leads
a simple life. She asks for nothing of others, but always demands of
herself. Chelsea being the next witch in line, Ruth has taken it upon
herself to steer the girl right. Ruth is Chelsea's father's mother.
She has no connection to the Chattan curse. Her magick is simple and
is a classic representation of modern witchcraft.

Corrine
Elizabeth Melpomene: Corrine has great magickal power and through spells,
chants, and so forth can wield great power even in morph form. She is
an exceptional specimen of both worlds. Corrine ran away from home at
fifteen because she could not stand her step-father. She attempted to
commit suicide in San Francisco in the late 1980s or very early '90s.
Her family thought she was dead at that time. However, she survived
and manifested as an Alpha-Morph-Leopard. At that time she encountered
the Fire Wizard Jacob, who became her mentor in magick. At this time
she took the name Melpomene ("Mel"). She has been involved in the Great
War. Corrine was thought dead, killed by Deus Lupus. Due to the Chattan
curse Corrine could not be really killed. She returned less than a year
later. Corrine is also extremely wealthy. Both the business of real
estate and assassination appear to be quite lucrative.

Diane
Erato Hunt-Chattan Monroe: Diane is the mother of Chelsea and Cynthia.
A hippie in the 1960's, Diane's views have changed little over the past
thirty-odd years, but her status has. She was just about dead broke
when she met Ben and with two children to feed, Diane said yes to the
marriage proposal. She always respected and admired Ben, but it has
only been in the last few years that she can say she was in love with
him.
"Familiar acts are beautiful through love."- Percy Bysshe Shelley

Benjamin
Douglas Monroe: A retired Marine Colonel, retired CEO of a major corporation,
Ben now looks onto just plain retirement and wonders what in the hell
he is going to do. Big Ben as close friends call him, is conservative
to a fault, but he is fair and honest to all. He commands respect. Even
Chelsea respects him, though she wouldn't admit it. Ben and Chelsea,
his step-daughter, get along about as well as God and the devil. They
do not agree on any subject, but they are mellowing out a bit toward
each other.

that wins the game." - BDM |

Peter Christopher Chattan was born in 1948. Nothing is known about his early years. He knew about the family Curse, passed through his father, so he was aware of the danger though being male the Curse could never manifest on him. With his mother, Ruth, a human-witch, he would have been aware of magick and the Netherworld, but it’s not known if he pursued the Craft in any way.
On 1976-06-12, Peter was killed in an automobile accident, hit by a drunk driver. He would never see his second daughter, Corrine, who was born only weeks later. Peter Chattan occasionally manifests as a ghost, usually during Samhain.

Henry
Philbin Wald: On the outside Wald is a jerk. He's pretty much one on
the inside too. He does have loyalty going for him. He wouldn't desert
his "loser" friends in a crisis. Wald's bitter outlook on life stems
from his outward appearance. A babe magnet he ain't. So, instead of
bestowing love upon others he verbally yanks their hearts out. At least
that's his answer to the quandary of his disposition. Recently Wald
became a vampire. Oddly enough he seems happier and has purpose. Lord
help us all.
"You want a quote? Screw you. There you go. You've heard
of the Eight Fold Path? Life is suffering, yada, yada, yada. Here's
my path. Life Sucks!"

Agnes Crabtree was a Christian who turned to the Craft in later years. Now she is a witch with an odd quirk. Small ailments about her body can tell her if something is going to happen or is happening. For example, if her hip begins to hurt, then it will snow. Or if her ears burn, then someone is using a spell for unsavory purposes.
She is advanced enough in the Craft to take the lead in casting complex spells with the coven.

Jacob
Livingston: Jacob was born to normal parents in San Francisco California
in 1945. At a very young age he was caught in a house fire and rescued
by firefighters. The blaze started in his bedroom and the authorities
could not determine any point of origin. The only thing for sure was
that little Jacob should have died. His entire room was burnt to a cinder.
Jacob's parents, escaping the blaze too, traveled to an old friend of
the family who had a library. There they found out that Jacob was an
elemental fire wizard. Reluctantly Jacob's parents moved to be closer
to their friend. Here Jacob became a student of the librarian and embarked
upon a life devoted to the magick that engulfed him.

Joan Hart is Haven's deputy Sherrif and a witch. In spite of not being a born-witch, Joan has the ability to sense the supernatural. Otherwise, she is a common witch with limited power. That does not prevent her from being an important part of the Haven Coven.

Lucy Beatrice Cartwright was Chelsea's first roomate. While she liked being a punk rocker, but she obviously realised it wasn’t going to get her very far. She wasn’t amazing or fancy, just a nice young woman who could manage to go far in the world of business. She had a sense of humour. Lucy was killed on September 11th, 2001 during the attack on the World Trade Center.

Sarah
Jayne Simmons: SJ prefers punk/ metal bands to the more traditional
rap and pop her peers are into. She is also the other DJ in the small
coastal town of Haven. She has the night shift and likes it. She's spunky
and has a strong will of her own. To cross her is to have your teeth
shattered, but few really make her mad.

God almighty, I'm free at last, now let's get the hell out of this place!"

Sebastian:
Sebastian resembles a Russian Blue only a bit on the bright side. Sebo,
as Ruth calls him, is an enigma wrapped inside a riddle in the middle
of a maze. He can talk to any magical creature he wishes and make others
understand him too. He has magickal powers that have not fully been
revealed yet. Not much is known about his origin, but Sebastian likes
it that way. He is snooty, abrasive and can be down right belligerent.
In other words, despite all his magickal abilities, at his core Sebastian
is a typical cat.

Is it Gustov or Gustav? It’s both. It’s pronounced the same either way, gùs-tâv. The wizard himself prefers the Gustov spelling.
Gustov is a Prime Wizard Ancient, but that is not his real name. No one knows his real name. He was born somewhere in the Balkan Mountains in 503 BCE and sprang from one of the most magically endowed families in the entire ancient world. The name given to this family was “The Nyx”, meaning “Night” as they all seemed prefer the night to the day. No one knew the family’s true identity.
