| Ancient history | |
| circa 28 000 BCE | Lilith is the first vampire. She is no ordinary vampire, but a demon vampire. However, she’s the only one. (As a demon she does possess certain tricks like changing her eyes, raining down the plagues, and so forth.) |
|---|---|
| circa 20 000 BCE | Upper Paleolithic Period. Early examples of cave art. |
| circa 10 000 BCE | Portal Wars begin, lasting some two thousand years and revolving around petty disputes of Earth-bound territories. The conflicts cause a lot of division and bad blood in the supernatural community. |
| circa 8 000 BCE | Creation of the Council of Three, with the express purpose of
stopping further wars in the supernatural community before they start.
It comprised Lilith the Demon Vampire, plus a wizard and morph. It brings an uneasy stability to the netherworld. See also: Council—Formation. |
| Pre-Twentieth Century | |
| circa 312 CE | Marcus Lupus Ferox, the future Deus Lupus, is a legionary in the Roman army when Emperor Constantine receives the vision to go forth and conquer. |
| 1200s CE | First recorded mention of Clan Chattan, the Clan of the Cats. The Clan Chattan is a confederation of tribes. Through it, small clans gained strength by joining forces to avoid being overwhelmed by more powerful neighbours. It is hard to pinpoint an exact date of origin. While records show the clan well established in the 13th century, the clan is much, much older. |
| circa 1298 CE | Shortly after the Clan Mackintosh joined the confederation, the events that would mould Chelsea’s life take place. Two sisters—a practitioner, Aingeal and a morph, Mór Sine—are born. |
| 1315 CE | Mór Sine meets Seamus Uasal (Seamus the Noble) and they plan to wed. Aingeal is also in love with Seamus. Details are sketchy, but the sisters betray each other in order to win Seamus and in the end the Mór Sine Curse is born. The Curse is also known at the Chattan Curse, the Curse of Antigone, and the Curse of the Clan of the Cats. |
| 1436 CE | Transylvanian nobleman Vlad Dracula crowned Prince of Wallachia, one of the three provinces of Romania. He is a harsh ruler, and becomes known as Vlad Dracula Tepes (the Impaler) for the way he deals with his enemies. |
| 1476 CE | Transylvanian nobleman Vlad Dracula Tepes dies.
In retribution for his crimes he is cursed by God to be a vampire.
As a mark of his curse, Dracula and any vampires in his line cannot
look upon or touch Holy objects.
Shortly after his emergence as a vampire, Dracula and Lilith are lovers. |
| circa 1750 CE | The town of Haven, approximately 30 miles (50 km) south of Wilmington, NC, is founded. (This is where Chelsea will live.) |
| 1897 CE | Jonathan Harker encounters Vampire Vlad Dracula. |
| 1898 CE | Vlad Dracula re-animates and draws Mina to himself. |
| Twentieth Century | |
| 1911 CE | Timon the Thirteenth is born. His father is (of course) Timon the Twelfth. |
| circa 1914 CE | Vampire Vlad Dracula destroyed and his ashes placed in the Vault of the Council of Three. |
| 1914 CE | World War One begins. |
| circa 1918 CE | At the time, the Council of Three comprises
Lilith, Timon the Twelfth, and a Wolf-Morph who was Harry’s great-grandfather.
The Council refuses to get involved in World War One as it was a purely human matter. As in previous dealings, Marcus Lupus Ferox felt that the Council did not do enough. Ferox and the Wolf-Councillor struggle over this matter greatly. However, Ferox is forced to abide by the Council’s decision. During the War, the Wolf-Councillor fights in the American forces. Ferox murders him, making it look as if he were a casualty. Ferox aligns himself with other morphs who share his convictions, thereby taking power away from the Council. With the support of the morph tribes and clans, Ferox threatens all out war between Morphs on one side and Wizards and Vampires on the other. Faced with killing thousands of morphs or giving in and disbanding the council, Lilith chooses to give in. Ferox originally planned to reign as king of the Netherworld over his supernatural kin. However, World War One ends just days later and he has a vision of unity between human beings and supernatural beings. This vision is what drives Ferox—now Deus Lupus—in his fight. The whole idea divides morph community and after a very short confrontation a Cold War begins. As Melpomene put it, “There are so many clans, families, and factions that it would be impossible to get us to come together. We will kill each other before we unite.” The “Cold” War heats up a few years after the Council disbanded. It becomes known as the Great War. See also: Council—Dissolution, Glossary—Great War. |
| 1918 CE | World War One ends. |
| 1928 CE | Timon the Twelfth dies. |
| 1931 CE | The grave of Vlad Dracula Tepes is unearthed and opened. The only remains inside belong to an animal, not the Romanian Prince. |
| 1930s CE | Timon the Thirteenth had known that
he was to be his father’s successor on the Council of Three.
He had spent many years building a relationship with Lilith.
They reached a point where he could affectionately call her “Lil”.
It is sort of a put down, but it’s meant to keep her in her place.
Lilith respects this, but still Timon knows when to stop pushing.
As the decade progresses, it is increasingly obvious that Lilith is interested neither in the Council nor the on-going Great War. Eventually, Timon gives up trying to convince her to reform the Council of Three and they part ways. |
| 1939 CE | World War Two begins. |
| 1945 CE | World War Two ends with the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. |
| 1966 CE | Lillith emerges from seclusion. She changes the spelling of her name to detract attention from the Lilith myth. |
| 1969 CE | Peter Chattan and Diane Hunt married. |
| (31 Oct) 1974 CE | Chelsea Chattan born. |
| 1976 CE | Peter Christopher Chattan killed in an automobile accident when hit by a drunk driver. He dies just a few weeks before Corrine is born. |
| 1976 CE | Corrine Melpomene Chattan born. |
| 1977 CE | Ben Monroe and Diane Hunt-Chattan married. |
| 1978 CE | Cynthia Monroe born. |
| 1996 CE | Chelsea moves to New York to make her way as an artist. |
| 1998 CE | Lillith starts a feminist fashion magazine, calling it Lillith. When asked about the misspelling she replies that the magazine reflects her, not a myth. Of course she does not divulge that she is the myth. |
| (Jun) 1999 CE | [“Coming Home”] Chelsea returns home to Haven, NC, from New York. |
| (31 Oct) 1999 CE | A magick ritual is performed to help Chelsea control her transformations. |
| (Jan) 2000 CE | [“Magic”] Ruth begins mentoring Chelsea in the Craft. |
| (May) 2000 CE | [“Melpomene”] Marcus Lupus Ferox (Deus Lupus) killed by Pureblood Chelsea Chattan, ending the Great War among supernatural beings. |
| (Sep) 2000 CE | Jacob arrives in Haven to open his magick shop and library. Chelsea gets a job working there—at minimum wage. |
| (Nov) 2000 CE | [“Council of Three”]
The Council of Three is reinstated.
At the instigation of Melpomene and Chelsea with the co-operation
of the former Vampire-Councillor (Lillith) and the Wizard-Heir,
they succeed in locating the Wolf-Heir—the great-grandson of the last Wolf-Councillor.
Upon his agreement, the Council of Three is reinstated and resumes its role
of preventing war in the Netherworld.
The members of the newly re-formed Council of Three are Lillith the Demon Vampire, Wizard Timon the Thirteenth, and Harry Conroy the Wolf. See also: Council—Reinstatement. |
